How to move your workouts from Hevy to Liftava

One CSV file and a minute of your time. Your whole Hevy history comes over, and Liftava replays it so you start at the level your training has earned.

Step 1: export your workouts from Hevy

  1. In Hevy, open Profile, then Settings.
  2. Choose Export & Import Data, then Export Workouts.
  3. Hevy creates a CSV file with every set you’ve logged. Share it or save it.

Step 2: import it into Liftava

  1. Share the file straight to Liftava, and the import starts on its own.
  2. Or save the file, then in Liftava open Profile, choose Import from Hevy and pick it. A new account also offers the import on the home screen.
  3. Wait a few seconds while Liftava replays your history. You then see how many workouts, sets and XP came over, and the level your training puts you at.

What comes over

  • Every workout with its name, date, duration and description
  • Every set with its weight, reps, RPE, distance and time
  • Warm-up, failure and drop sets, marked as such
  • Supersets and exercise notes
  • Weights in kilograms or pounds (pounds are converted)

Exercises are matched to Liftava’s catalog by name, and the result lists the ones matched only by a similar name, so you can check them. An exercise the catalog doesn’t have becomes your own custom exercise, with its muscles guessed from the name. Edit it later and your XP is recalculated.

If the import fails

  • “This is not a Hevy workout export”: make sure the file comes from Export Workouts.
  • “The CSV file could not be read”: the file was damaged or changed, for example saved again in a spreadsheet. Export a fresh copy from Hevy.
  • “The file contains no workouts”: the export is empty. Check that your workouts show up in Hevy, then export again.
  • A file can be up to 20 MB, and you can start up to five imports an hour.

Questions about the import

Is importing from Hevy free?
Yes. The import is part of the free plan, like logging, history, levels, records and achievements.
What if I import the same file twice?
Nothing is duplicated: workouts that are already in Liftava are skipped. So you can import a newer export later to bring over the workouts added in Hevy since.
Do I lose anything in Hevy?
No. Exporting only makes a copy, and your Hevy account stays as it is.
What happens to the uploaded file?
It’s used for the import and isn’t kept once the import is done. Your workouts are encrypted and stored in the EU, like everything you log in Liftava.
