How to do it
- Set the bar at about shoulder height and place a sturdy step or plate on the floor under it.
- Rest the bar on your upper back and stand with the balls of your feet on the step, heels hanging off.
- Twist the bar off the hooks, lower your heels slowly into a deep calf stretch, and hold it for a moment instead of bouncing.
- Rise as high as you can onto your toes with your knees straight but not locked, then lower under control.
- Twist the bar back onto the hooks before you step off.
Warm up first and pick a weight you can control through the whole movement. Stop if something hurts.
