How to do it

  1. Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat, holding a weight plate against your chest.
  2. Exhale and curl your shoulders off the floor, bringing your ribs toward your hips.
  3. Lower yourself slowly until your shoulder blades touch the floor.
  4. Keep the plate tight to your chest and don't yank with your arms or neck.

Warm up first and pick a weight you can control through the whole movement. Stop if something hurts.
