How to do it

  1. Hang from the bar with an underhand grip about shoulder-width apart, arms straight.
  2. Pull your shoulders down, then pull yourself up, driving your elbows down toward your ribs.
  3. Keep going until your chin clears the bar, then lower yourself under control to a full hang.
  4. Keep your body still and use the full range, from a dead hang to your chin over the bar.

Warm up first and pick a weight you can control through the whole movement. Stop if something hurts.
