How to do it

  1. Stand tall with a dumbbell in each hand at your sides and your feet hip-width apart.
  2. Take a long step forward or back and lower until both knees are bent to about 90°.
  3. Keep your torso upright, your front heel down, and your front knee in line with your toes.
  4. Push through your front foot to return to standing, then repeat with the other leg.

Warm up first and pick a weight you can control through the whole movement. Stop if something hurts.
