How to do it
- Rest the bar on your upper back, grip it wide as for a snatch, lift it off the rack, and step back.
- Set your feet about shoulder-width apart with your toes turned slightly out, and press the bar overhead from behind your neck until your arms are locked.
- Brace your core and squat down under control, keeping your arms locked and the bar over the middle of your feet.
- Drive up through your whole foot to stand, then lower the bar onto your upper back before you rack it.
- Keep pushing up into the bar and your torso upright the whole time, and use a light weight until the bottom position feels steady.
Warm up first and pick a weight you can control through the whole movement. Stop if something hurts.
