How to do it
- Set a box behind you at a height where your thighs are about parallel to the floor when you sit on it.
- Set the bar across your upper back, lift it off the rack, and stand just in front of the box with your feet a little wider than shoulder-width.
- Brace your core, push your hips back, and sit down onto the box under control instead of dropping onto it.
- Pause briefly while staying tight, without relaxing or rocking back, then drive up through your whole foot to stand.
Warm up first and pick a weight you can control through the whole movement. Stop if something hurts.
