How to do it
- Attach a wide bar with parallel handles to the high pulley and sit with your thighs snug under the pads.
- Grab the handles with your palms facing each other, about shoulder width or a bit wider, arms straight and chest up.
- Pull your shoulders down, then pull the bar to your upper chest, driving your elbows down toward your hips.
- Let the bar rise under control until your arms are straight and you feel a stretch along your back.
- Keep your torso still; if you have to swing back to move the weight, go lighter.
Warm up first and pick a weight you can control through the whole movement. Stop if something hurts.
